Is periodization better than going heavy?

PITANJE:
for building strength, is periodization better than going heavy all the time. for squats i always do 5 sets of 3-5reps.

ODGOVOR:
Periodization is better because you must vary with intensity. You need periods of easier training or you will overtrain yourself.
